Job description

Develop the firm's controlling function together with management, using clear KPIs, intelligent reports, and forward-looking steering
Build a meaningful KPI and reporting system for management, partners, business areas, and locations
Establish plan-actual comparisons and an automated early-warning system that surfaces cost and budget overruns on mandates early
Analyze profitability, contribution margins, productivity, utilization, WIP, and working capital, and derive concrete steering impulses
Ensure data quality across planned revenue, planned hours, master data, and complete time tracking
Further develop order, capacity, personnel, and result planning, creating the required data models and tools
Lead monthly reporting and steering discussions with partners, track measures, and turn numbers into concrete decisions
Use the existing controlling software consistently and supplement it with own Power BI solutions where useful
Develop partner-sharp Power BI dashboards and automated reports using data from controlling software, DATEV, the HRIS, and other systems

Several years of solid professional experience in controlling
Ideally already built or significantly developed a controlling or reporting function
Mastery of Power BI at a level to independently build data models, dashboards, and permission concepts
Strong affinity for numbers and data; confident with Excel, raw data, data models, and complex evaluation logic
Understands controlling as active corporate steering and can translate numbers understandably, question them critically, and identify concrete action needs
Has the standing to lead steering and planning discussions with partners and management at eye level and consistently follow up on topics
Works very independently, in a structured and solution-oriented way, without needing detailed guidance
Data quality and clean processes are a prerequisite for good controlling
Experience in professional services, consulting, or law firm environments and with DATEV or law firm controlling software is a plus, but not a must
