Job description

Own the technical architecture and direction of Aveni's core platform services
Design and build scalable, event-driven services on AWS
Develop and evolve client-data ingestion capabilities, enabling new clients and data sources to be onboarded increasingly through configuration rather than bespoke engineering
Build and maintain APIs that give Aveni products a consistent way to consume client and CRM data
Design robust multi-tenant systems with strong data isolation, security and operational controls
Lead the approach to data lifecycle management, including retention, deletion, residency and GDPR requirements
Build resilient integrations with third-party platforms and APIs, including authentication, rate limiting, retries, reconciliation and failure recovery
Make and document architectural decisions and represent Core Services in Architecture Review Board discussions
Raise engineering standards across testing, observability, security, reliability and operational ownership
Remain hands-on with production code, primarily across Node.js and AWS
Mentor engineers through pairing, code reviews, design discussions and technical coaching
Help the team make effective use of AI-assisted engineering tools throughout the development lifecycle while maintaining strong engineering judgement and appropriate controls

Strong experience designing and operating cloud-native systems on AWS
