Job description

Execute core accounting processes from start to finish, including organizing data sets, cash reconciliations, preparing and recording journal entries, and reconciling balance sheet accounts under the guidance of senior team members
Support the team in ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal controls
Learn how various finance systems function and help the team ensure automated processes are operating effectively
Contribute to process improvements by documenting existing workflows and suggesting minor enhancements to increase efficiency
Be proficient in using Sprout's accounting system (NetSuite), record journal entries, record intercompany transactions, retrieve data needed to review transactions and financial reporting
Play a critical role in Sprout's month-end close, by maintaining our fixed asset and prepaids schedules, preparing accruals, and performing cash reconciliations
Collaborate with members from other teams, including AP and Payroll
Assist with ad hoc reporting and special projects as needed
Maintain and improve SOX compliance for accounting functions, including participating in SOX documentation and testing
Fully own your assigned close processes for Sprout Social and our subsidiaries

Solid organizational and attention-to-detail abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to handle multiple tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Solid working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and corporate accounting operations
Familiarity with NetSuite or similar ERP system
A demonstrated interest in improving processes and an understanding of enhancing internal controls
SaaS or tech industry experience is a plus
