Job description

Own user problems end-to-end: from understanding the problem through architecture, backend, and frontend to deployment
Verify that solutions actually work in the classroom
Focus on AI engineering: build the agentic systems that make up paddy and bring them reliably, quickly, and affordably into production

At least three years of experience developing and operating modern web applications with TypeScript, Node.js, Next.js, and React in a product team with real users
AI engineering know-how: built and operated LLM-based features or agentic systems in production; understanding of context windows, model failure modes, RAG, vector databases, and why prompts without evals are not finished; no ML research required, but real technical understanding beyond the feature level
Technical foundation: confident in API design, databases (SQL, NoSQL, and vector), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD; strongest focus may be backend and architecture, but not a narrow specialist
Ownership and judgment: comfortable with underspecified problems, finds simple solutions to complex questions, and builds systems that work in everyday school life
AI-native way of working: uses coding agents and modern AI tools as a matter of course to multiply output, and engages intensively with how AI is changing software development
Languages: fluent German and very good English
