Job description

Deliver training to develop and impart chemistry knowledge to others, ensuring maximum learning transfer back into the workplace
Turn complex chemistry information into 'lightbulb' moments by engaging and inspiring people
Work autonomously to deliver on an agreed schedule of work
Follow processes and utilise systems to ensure compliance with Tiro's policies and procedures
Deliver assessment marking and feedback to learners within deadlines
Support learners with chemical problem-solving, reaction mechanisms and synthesis planning
Design and/or deliver Level 5–6, or equivalent, chemistry content

Degree qualification or higher in the field of Chemistry
Experience in organic chemistry, synthetic chemistry or a related chemical science field
Experience designing and/or delivering Level 5–6, or equivalent, chemistry content
Experience creating digital or blended learning materials
Experience supporting learners with chemical problem-solving, reaction mechanisms and synthesis planning
Advanced understanding of organic chemistry principles and their application
Specialist knowledge in areas such as reaction mechanisms, functional group chemistry, stereochemistry, retrosynthetic analysis and synthetic route design
Understanding of organic synthesis techniques, purification methods and analytical characterisation approaches
Awareness of safe working practices in synthetic chemistry, including risk assessment, reagent handling and waste management
Understanding of Level 5–6 academic standards and assessment design
Knowledge of digital and blended learning design principles
Awareness of current industry practices and emerging trends in organic synthesis, pharmaceutical chemistry, fine chemicals and related sectors
Industry or research experience in relevant areas, such as pharmaceutical chemistry, medicinal chemistry, process chemistry, fine chemicals, analytical chemistry or chemical manufacturing, desirable
