Job description

Key details

  • Create robust and reproducible scientific workflows using Nextflow, making them available to customers to analyze and visualize data
  • Develop and deliver solutions to increase adoption of Seqera products in the customer base
  • Develop, deploy, and maintain cloud data infrastructures capable of processing data related to next-generation sequencing (NGS), imaging analysis, machine learning and related large datasets
  • Understand the biological application and scientific needs underlying relevant scientific workflows
  • Clearly communicate updates on services delivery, including project plans, requirements, deliverables, documentation, and training, through both writing and presentations
  • Engage with customers on requirements, developing project deliverables and coordinating the execution of projects
  • Train customers to use Seqera products
  • Represent the voice of the customer and collaborate internally with content, research, and software development teams

Requirements & details

  • Strong knowledge of the Nextflow language and the pipeline development approaches adopted by nf-core
  • Experience with programming in languages such as Groovy, Python and R
  • Ability to effectively communicate and clearly explain technology to different audiences, through code, writing, presentations and demos
  • Use of AI for software development and scientific analysis
  • Use of Git or other version control systems in a software development environment
  • In-depth experience with analysis pipelines and algorithms for a variety of 'omics' data types, such as genomics, proteomics, metabolomics etc
  • Experience with HPC and public cloud (AWS, Google, Azure) architectures and a willingness to learn more
  • A customer-oriented attitude, someone who enjoys working with others and helping find solutions
  • PhD in bioinformatics or a relevant field or Masters + 3 years experience
  • 4+ years experience relevant to scientific workflows and software development
  • Experience with orchestrated, and maintained data infrastructures and scalable pipelines for large datasets
  • Solid track record of production level code in bioinformatics as evidenced by public code repositories, publications, contributions to open source
  • Self-motivated and a proactive thinker – can work independently and in teams
